Solar power has become a common green technology in use in not only
massive utility/commercial solar fields but also are common on the roofs
or properties of small businesses and homes. A solar panel is a
component in a larger photovoltaic system for commercial and residential
use.
The majority of modules use crystalline silicon cells to convert solar
energy into electricity but now more often a thin-film with solar cells
based on cadmium telluride or silicon. Conversion rates (efficiencies)
can vary from 5-18%. Every percentage point increase in efficiency is
the goal of millions of dollars of research each year. New designs of
modules include concentrator modules much like a satellite dish allowing
the use of very expensive materials (such a gallium arsenide) for
collection.
One improvement available without the new of new collection materials is
the use of solar tracking. Trackers maximize the exposure between the
photovoltaic (PV) panel(s) and the incoming light thus increasing the
energy produced. Proper choice of a solar tracker can increase the
"efficiency" of a PV solar installation by as much as 30%. In all
concentrated photovoltaic (CPV) applications, tracking systems are
essential because no energy is produced unless the collector is oriented
directly toward the sun.
Different Types of Solar trackers
The type of (PV) tracker is defined by several factors. Probably most important are the number (single or dual) and orientation of their axis (axes). Other factors are their method of actuation (linear or worm gear
driven), applications, and foundation.
Typically, a single axis tracker's one axis of rotation is aligned with a
true North meridian. There are two types of single axis trackers. Horizontal Single Axis Trackers: With respect to the ground, the axis of
rotation is horizontal with the panels oriented parallel to the axis of
rotation. Consequently, with rotation East to West, tracking sweeps a cylinder.
Vertical Single Axis Trackers: With respect to the ground, the axis of rotation is vertical and rotation is east to west. The face of the module is oriented at an optimal, seasonally adjusted angle (15, 25, 35,
45, 55, or 65 degrees.) relative to the axis of rotation; therefore, a cone is swept at an angle to the ground.
Dual axis trackers have a primary axis that is fixed relative to the ground with a secondary axis normal to the primary. Installation of a Dual-axis Solar Tracker (Azimuth Dual Axis Tracker) removes the need to adjust the array monthly or seasonally to optimize solar performance from morning to evening.

The world spends more and more energy and investment in solar power plant can be a great opportunity to make money in financally hard times.
I'm a huge proponent of solar energy and these trackers are great - they can maximize the efficiency of the solar panels. Thumbs up!
Nice hub :)
Today was a beautiful day for solar power.
solar energy is very important in future!!!
Nice post. Really, today solar energy is huge project in future. Thanks for share a great information.
Solar tracker is another great device to invest on. This precisely orients itself to the direction of sunlight to absorb more energy. It will help maximize the use of solar panels and generate more electricity.
Solar trackers maximizes the efficiency of solar panels in a great amount. It will be a wise thing to invest on these type of equipments.
