Skillet greatest hits
69
Skillet is an American Christian rock band who has been performing
together for over fifteen years. They have released eight albums and
received two Grammy nominations for the collide and comatose albums.
The band formed in 1996 and were together for one month before
christian record label Fore Front records expressed interest in the
band. Their unique name "Skillet" was decided upon because
each band member was already part of a band and decided to start a
side project. Having come from different bands they all had different
sounds and styles. The side project was said to be like putting all
of the sounds and styles into a skillet and the rest is history.
The
band consist of John cooper and his wife Korey Cooper, Ben Kasica and
Jen Ledger. The Awake album has been rated as #2 on the billboards
and has been certified gold with sales in excess of 500,000. Various
tracks from the album has received major T.V. placement including
N.B.C. Sunday night football and more. The album includes the two
blockbuster hits "Monster" and "Hero" which
continues as hard rock fan favorites. The band has just released
their latest single at christian radio "Forgiven".

Skillet albums
Skillet has many albums to it's credit such as comatose,
collide, skillet, invincible, ardent worship and more. Their style of
music is diverse and intense, due to their passion and purpose for
Jesus and hard core worship. The ideas for song writing come largely
from scriptures, books, prayer and life. Skillet has released eight
best selling albums toured with some of the best names in music and
is one of the few christian bands that has successfully transitioned
to mainstream music.
It had been nearly three years between
the release of collide and comatose. With the release of the smash
hit comatose they once again pushed their creative boundaries
musically and lyrically. The single from the album "yours to
hold" is encouraging a friend that their not alone in their
struggles and "a whisper in the dark" is god's perspective.
For those who enjoyed the more raw rock styling of their previous
album, may be in for a surprise with the comatose album.
Skillet
has given us many great hits over the past fifteen years and will
continue to bring good worship albums for years to come. They are
constantly on tour bringing other christian worship bands to our
attention. Skillet hopes that their music will bring meaning and
strike a chord on all levels with listeners from all walks of life.
Skillet has found a way to incorporate their love for music and
Christ and through their lyrics, continue to deliver powerful
performances and messages to everyone, regardless of their spiritual
denomination.
